The Ninth Meeting of the Consortium for the Control of Zoonoses was held on September 6th and 7th, 2021 via Zoom. The total attendees were 166, including not only 31 researchers from the University of Melbourne, University College Dublin, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, and 64 researchers from Hokkaido University, but also 58 graduate students affiliated with Graduate School of Infectious Diseases and the WISE Program for One Health Frontier Graduate School of Excellence.

The meeting began with an invited lecture, followed by seven lectures regarding ongoing advanced research on Zoonosis Control and its update, delivered by researchers from the four universities in two days. This time, six young researchers were also offered an opportunity to present their current research and receive feedback from world-leading researchers.

Both lectures and presenters covered broad topics on zoonotic infectious diseases on viral and bacterial. One of the most discussed topics was up-to-date research on suppressing Covid-19, based on recent in-depth cellular level analysis as well as experimental evidence, from various perspectives.
