The Eleventh Meeting of the Consortium for the Control of Zoonoses was held on 25th and 26th of October at the International Institute for Zoonosis Control (IIZC) , Hokkaido University.\u00a0 The meeting was the first to be held jointly by the IIZC and the Institute for Vaccine Research and Development(IVReD). The total attendees were 190 over two days, including not only 18 researchers from the University of Melbourne, University College Dublin, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, but also 77 graduate students affiliated with Graduate School of Infectious Diseases.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The meeting covered four different topics: influenza and Covid-19 vaccine and host response, bacterial infections, viral infections, and genome analysis. Over\u00a0 two days the presentations regarding ongoing advanced research on Zoonosis Control were delivered by 15 researchers including 8 world-leading researchers from overseas universities. Theses presentations were followed by active question and answer sessions. One of the most impressive topics was up-to-date research on suppressing influenza and Covid-19, based on recent in-depth cellular level analysis as well as experimental evidence.<\/p>\n

The meeting provided a meaningful opportunity to strengthen our relationship with IVReD for the control of zoonoses. The scientific findings and insightful information shared through each talk and lively discussion greatly benefited the further progress of our consortium to enable us to reach new levels in vaccine research and development in the future.<\/p>\n
